With 2012 almost over, and it being one of the best years for movies, I'm curious to see what everyone is anticipating out of what we know is coming in 2013.
A lot of great sequels next year, but the one i'm most interested in seeing as soon as it's out is Star Trek into Darkness. I loved the first new version that came out in 2009, and since we know this is not a linear universe following the storylines of the old to a great degree, I'm anxious to see what direction we go into. Runner up is of course A Good Day To Die Hard.
Yet again, several remakes are set to appear, but none have me as excited as a true American remake of Oldboy, which is my favorite Asian film. The Korean version was about a man who is snatched out of the street and thrown into a prison cell for 15 years, never given any reason. One day, his door opens up and he is thrown a large amount of cash and let loose. I won't give more of the plot away, but the original had a great and suspenseful ending I didn't foresee.
As far as wholly original movies, All Superheroes Must Die is a must-see for me. It's about four superheroes who are captured and stripped of their powers and set against challenges that they could have only beaten with their powers, with a very deadly scenario to play out if they lose. I know it's a storyline we've seen brought up in comics over the years where someone (usually Superman) will lose their powers briefly, but the thought of seeing it from 4 heroes who don't magically recover them, and have to be human, yet still super, is very intriguing and I hope it's as good as I'm expecting.
