"One of the major reasons that Vince McMahon has been supportive of CM Punk keeping the WWE Title for so long is because of The Rock. McMahon was said to be very supportive of CM Punk holding on to the title at Survivor Series because he's worried if the title gets put on someone different, The Rock might have an issue with it.
CM Punk vs. Rock at Royal Rumble has been teased since the summer and is something The Rock agreed to do. Vince reportedly doesn't want to upset The Rock by changing things last minute regarding the creative plans for 2013."
I would be SO FUCKING MAD if I were CM Punk and read this horseshit. The reason he likes having me as champ is to not upset the hack who just comes and goes as he pleases? I'd absolutely refuse to lay down for The Rock at this point. What a complete insult. Unbelievable.

Well I guess it makes sense why Vince was insulting Punk on live TV saying that he wasn't a good wrestler or whatever. What I want to know is, is Vince even doing this for a reason or does he just have a hard on for The Rock? Does anyone know the buyrates for Survivor Series and Wrestlemania this year? Were they any higher than the usual pay per view show buy rates?

Vince is a media whore. Whether is good or bad, he values the WWE's name in the press more than anything. Rock is a celebrity now. He WAS a wrestler, in as much as Jesse Ventura was one. But now he's known world-wide as a movie star.
So, Vince will kiss his ass over all others. You think Cena laid down for him out of respect? A man he spent a year showing little for, pointing out his "wrist notes" and calling him an entertainer. Cena laid down because Rock was creating a buzz among the television media. Buyrates aren't nearly as important to Vince as that media attention.

WWE and Vince need Rock a helluva lot more than Rock needs the WWE. I can certainly see why Vince would want to remain on Rock's good side. Now I think that report is shit, the Rock has never come off as a HHH type guy, he usually seems to do what is best for business.
As far as Punk refusing to lay down, that would be stupid. At the end of the day, this is still a scripted "sport" and the name of the game is making money. The Rock on top of a WM card as champ will draw a lot more than a CM Punk headlined WM. Its not an opinion, its pretty much a fact.

The Rock grew up in the business, and knows that he needs to do what is right for making money. He's never (AFAIK) refused to do a job or put someone over. Having him against Punk for the title is good for business. It will bring in casual fans, it will bring in fence-sitters (like me) and make more money for all of them. Punk won't bitch when he gets a HUGE paycheck.

Where did you see this? Because unless you were in the room when Vince actually said it, then that's all it is, horseshit.

I was! Vince and I were working on a gimmick where I'd be an evil forum moderator who punished people that dare spoke against me.
I got it from 411mania. Honestly, it sounds very Vince like.
