I recently made the decision to stop watching WWE shows, as the 50/50 booking was getting out of hand, the angles were becoming a farce, and I just couldn't devote that tv time to it anymore.
That being said, I do read recaps, and still read spoilers, as I cling to hope over time something will pull me back to watching my first love. Then I saw the SmackDown spoilers.
After Del Rio gets a strong win on Raw over Khali, and getting an angle with Rosa that might help him, in the first match on SmackDown, John Cena cleanly pins Alberto Del Rio. This just a day after pinning Ziggler pretty clean in a TV match that's SUPPOSED to build interest in the PPV re-match in the most backwards logic I've ever seen. I re-read that thinking maybe I missed interference from Ziggler at some point, but no, hes not involved till after the match.
I no longer can understand any of the creative team's logic. We're supposed to believe anyone is a threat to Cena? He pins everyone cleanly, and the last time I remember him being pinned in a singles match on Raw was when Tensai did it.(Granted I missed a few eps.) Every guy who it seems is gaining some traction, and could break out as a heel, they lose on TV to Cena. Ziggler? Check. Del Rio? Check. Sandow? Check. Punk can't be the company's only over heel. At some point, they have to build up a secondary guy, so that when Punk is finally beat, the next challenger is someone who has a shred of credibility left.
Rumor is that Rock may get the belt. Bad, Bad idea. No one, sans Punk on the heel side, even remotely looks like a guy Rock would concern himself with. Is anyone really gonna pay to see Ziggler versus Rock? No, we will be forced to endure more fruity pebbles jokes and more videos ad nausea about the exploits of two guys who haven't interacted but twice since Wrestle Mania. Well, someone will, because I won't be watching.
