For me, and I just don't know what's wrong with motherfuckers, but Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was AWESOME. The first 20 minutes was some of the best Indy stuff ever. Sure, the alien thing was weird, but that was what, 2 minutes of the film? The rest was awesome.
On the flip side, I hate Scarface, and don't dig the Dark Knight trilogy.

Indy 4 is abysmal. You must have been high as a kite when you watched it. Totally agree with you on Scarface, I even wrote an article on it when I wrote for 411 waaaaaay back in the day.
I am not a huge fan of Batman Begins, but then I've always hated Ra's Al Ghul. I like the stuff with Bruce becoming Batman, but Scarecrow was underwhelming. Rises is just not a good film. There are a lot of plot holes, but I'd watch it again just for Bane. I can't agree with you on Dark Knight though. Love that movie.
But to answer the original subject:
Superman 3 - Not a good Superman movie, but it entertains the hell out of me.
Punch Drunk Love - Great film and I wish Sandler would try more things like this instead of wallowing in his comfort zone and making crap like Jack and Jill.

Superman 3 I feel is a bit under-rated. Richard Pryor was funny as hell, I thought. Plus, you had stuff like the girlfriend of the bad-guy pretending to be stupid, and then reading big thick books when no one was looking. Plus, Bad Superman was a total bad-ass.
My problem with Dark Knight is that it just runs too long. Plus, the Joker becomes stale due to the fact that you can figure out what he's doing, but just doing the opposite of what he said he's gonna do. It's always the opposite. I agree about Rises. I watched it again the other day, and just skipped all the scenes that weren't Bane. Well, I also watched some ones that featured Anne Hathaway. She's so hot in that movie it's ridiculous.
Dude, Indy 4 is awesome! I mean, what was so bad about it? The gripes people give are just nit-picking. I don't think it's as good as 1 & 3, but it's on par with Temple.

Caliber, can I ask a question, how old are you? I don't mean that in a disrespecting way, I just find that people who are younger who didn't grow up with the Indy movies give this one a lot more leeway. There's a bunch of things I don't like about Skull, most of which is the Macguffin, sorry but aliens (or other dimensional creatures) just don't belong in the Indy universe. Hell Speilberg knew that too, Lucas had been trying to get this movie made even before he did the SW Prequals but Spielberg kept shooting it down because it was centered around the skulls and aliens. And yes there are a lot of nitpicky things but they really add up and the story and action just don't flow as well as the other three. But hey, it's cool you enjoy it, I never begrudge somebody liking a movie just explaining why I don't like it.
The Dark Knight is just a great movie all around, love that movie. Begins can be a bit weak but is still decent. Rises just isnt that good save for a few scenes, I can suspend disbelief a great deal but these movies are supposed to be grounded in reality and they have Bruce recover from a broken back in like a month by hanging from a rope and a magic punch. Seriously?
As for the question, I like Revenge of the Sith, it's a good movie that feels more like the original trilogy than the other two. Jaws 3 is another one I like but I can really tell why people don't like it. On the other end of the question in a movie I hate that others seems to love is Napolean Dynamite, I just don't get that movie at all and I usually like most comedies but that movie just isn't funny to me at all.

Humor is so subjective that it is really pointless to blame someone for not liking something. I liked Napolean but can see it not being everyone's bag.
Caliber, Indy 4 is such a huge misstep. Raiders of the Lost Ark is probably the best action movie ever made. Temple of Doom is goofy and I'm not a fan but there are still some memorable things going on (the opening, the mine cart chase). Last Crusade is one of the best threequels you'll find. Love Connery as Indy's dad.
That brings us to Skulls. There are pieces of a good movie there. I think Ford is still great and I love that they brought back Karen Allen (she was by far the best leading lady). But there is just a lot of disjointed stuff going on. Shia doesn't click with Ford and is not convincing as a 50's greaser tough guy. There is way too much fake looking CGI. I'm mainly thinking of the Alien stuff, the ants, and the monkey's swinging with Shia. John Hurt's character is annoying as hell. Then you have thing that are ridiculous even for an action movie. Then gunpowder moving toward the skull, the jeep chase through jungle that is so thick they needed a special machine to cut it down, the ants again.

Oh yeah Scotty, there are defenitly shadows of a good film there, it's just the pieces just don't click like the other films. And I agree with your nitpicky items but you forgot a big one, that fucking fridge!

I'm 29, and yeah, I didn't grow up with Indy. Matter of fact, I didn't even see the Indy films until I was 20. Perhaps that's it, I don't know. There was just so much fun in the film and I never felt let down, or bored.
I love Revenge of the Sith, and it's probably my favorite of the entire series. I'm a big fan of The Empire, and totally dig The Emperor.
Exactly, about Rises. Nolan kept stressing that these films are gounded in reality, then we get that stupid nuke plot line that's right out of a Bond film. Plus, how the hell does Batman get back with no money?
Mag, the fridge thing was AWESOME. That was absolute perfect Indyness. I mean, people complain about that, but no one has a thing to say about Indy and 2 others jumping out of a plane in an inflatable raft, landing, sliding down a mountain, then falling OFF the 300 story cliff and landing safely in the river. I mean, holy shit. That blows the fridge deal miles out of the water.
People forget, Indy films are based off the old serials from the 30's and 40's. Over the top action where you just have fun and suspend your disbelief.

The fridge didn't bother me nearly as bad as a lot of things.
and BTW, I also hated the raft scene from Temple and I was like 12 when I saw it and still thought it was ridiculous.

Sucker Punch- I admit I never read the comics, but I enjoyed it. For an action movie it's slick, stylish, pretty fun. Plus I'd probably 3/4ths of the cast are pretty bangable.
Terminator:Salvation- I thought it was a huge step up from the previous Terminator movie and I was intrigued with the plot of John Connor going to war in the distant future. That's really what sold me on that movie, how well the captured the future with lasers, plasma cannons, robots, etc.
Paranormal Activity- As bad as the later movies have gotten, I still dig this one. The movie was so great because it played on what everyone's main gripe of the film was : nothing happened. When someone is sitting in the dark and can't see for shit, that's truly the scary part.
As for Star Wars, out the new series I think Phantom of the Menace is my favorite. A lot people hate it because of Jar-Jar but to me that was completely offset by the awesomeness of Maul. This was also my introduction to Star Wars so Jar-Jar has a special place in my heart.

I never saw Sucker Punch, but the trailers always looked pretty amazing.
Terminator: Salvation was pretty good too. I love part 3 though, and place it second behind part 1.
I've only seen the first PA, but I thought it was scary, and rather well done.
See, I've been wondering about your generation. Who grew up with the entire series at your disposal. I didn't become a Star Wars geek until I was 23, so I was an adult when I saw Phantom and really didn't dig it. Although I do watch it from time to time, because like you, Maul is so fucking bad-ass. My favorite out of the entire series is actually Revenge of the Sith. I love that movie.

Am I the only one that was able to relate to/felt bad for Anakin in the beginning of Revenge of the Sith? The Jedi took him from his home, didn't want to train him, told him how great he was, wouldn't promote him to master even though he was as or more powerful than many of them and were not above lying/keeping stuff from him... while Palpatine regularly encouraged him using his abilities, reinforced how special he was and supported his decisions etc... I can totally see making the same choices up to that point that Anakin did... kind of the same way I have always felt about Magneto in X-Men... he's the bad guy, but you kind of see his point.

Also I enjoyed Terminator Salvation a lot but it has some serious plot holes... such as...
1. They tell us John Connor is #2 on the kill list they got from Skynet, and that Kyle Reese is #1 on the kill list. Skynet then finds Kyle Reese and uses him as bait to lure John Connor into a trap...This would be like the US capturing Bin Laden and then using him to lure "Secondary Al Qeada minion" into a trap
2. Said trap they lure John Connor into was fighting one T-800 that didn't have a gun or anything, was just a generic terminator...This is fucking Skynet who has a war machine that's nearly ended all human life...You lure John Connor into a trap and then you carpet bomb the city block he's in, then pump it full of chemical weapons, then you bomb it a bit more...Or have him fight 10 terminators who all have machine guns...Fucking something...ANYTHING
That's just the tip of the iceberg but I'll stop for now.

Never saw T:Salvation but it sounds stupid.
I think that ROTS was close to being really good. If it just didn't have the crappy foundation of the first two to have to work with it woulda been fine.
One that I've been watching a lot on HBO lately is Your Highness with Danny McBride. That movie cracks me up and everyone I know hated it. I think a lot of it is the fact that it is basically a send up of 80's fantasy movies like Conan, Beastmaster, and Clash of the Titans.
