If you're the champion of the World, then how can someone else be champion of the US? Television title, I can understand that. Crusierweight? Yup, all day. But I never understood the US/Intercontinental ones...

If you think about it "Intercontinental" means the same thing as world. As for US you could say that he is the champion of only the US but isn't able to compete effectively against the rest of the world like the World Champion is.

I THINK that Intercontinental was supposed to represent North and South America.
It doesn't matter much anymore since there are no regions and WWE is a global promotion, but back in the day it was a bigger deal.
