I'm gonna try this. If it gets good feedback, I'll do another. Maybe I'll work up to pitching it to Scott, but we'll see.
Anyway, I just figured I'd try and book the year from last Mania to this year for the WWE title.
So CM Punk is champ. Brock debuts the following night on RAW. That's where we'll start.
-Punk blows off his feud with Jericho at Extreme Rules, just like we got. Meanwhile, Brock destroys Cena, but instead of losing, the match it called a No Contest when the refs can't keep control. Cena does an injury angle.
-Have Laurenitis keep throwing guys at Punk every Raw and sell that he's trying to get the belt off Punk by giving him no breaks. Mark Henry, Big Show, Sheamus, Del Rio, Orton. Start having Punk pile up minor injuries. Show him getting his ribs taped backstage, some extra wrist taping.
-Two weeks before SummerSlam you have Laurenitis announce Brock as his opponent. Punk puts up a better fight because it is obvious that Brock is more in control, wanting to win the belt and not just murder him like Cena. At one point he rips off Punk's shirt and you see how badly taped up he is. Brock wins the belt.
-The next nigt on RAW, you have Brock hold up the WWE since he is champion. He says he is champion and will only appear on major shows. This brings out HHH who won't cave into his demands and says that they have another champion, Sheamus, and they don't need him. Brock gives him a beating.
-HHH doesn't want to lose the WWE title so he offers Brock a unification match against Sheumus. Brock bets him and becomes undisputed champ. This leads to HHH going after Brock himself for the honor of the WWE. Same match as Summerslam but moved back to Survivor Series.
-Meanwhile Punk returns shortly after Summerslam a beaten man, he turns on Rock at Raw 1000 just like we had, but his logic is a bit different. He is tired of part timers coming in and taking over the company and leaving. And it is the fan's that want the "Big Names" and keep them coming in, so screw the fans. He brings in Paul Heyman as manager to the chagrin of Brock. Punk beats some top faces to move toward the title.
-But wait! Cena returns after Survivor Series to a huge ovation. He wants revenge on Brock and the title. This pisses Punk off and they can feud while Brock stays off TV. Cena beats Punk and gets a shot at Brock's belt at the Rumble. Cena wins in a wild match, but the next night it is announced that the contract was only for one of the belts, so Brock still has the other. The announcers wonder how Brock is doing so much crafty manuvering with his contracts.
-But Brock's bragging is interrupted by Punk and Heyman. Punk says it works out for everyone because now he can get HIS revenge and beat Brock for the OTHER belt.
-So you get Punk going after Brock at Elimination Chamber and beating everyone as they come out. Brock comes out last and the Heyman screws Punk and it is revealed that Heyman just kept Punk away from Brock and was always behind him
-So you have this thing where Cena used his loss to Brock to rebuild himself, but Punk let his loss consume him with revenge and made him throw everything away.
-Mania gives us Cena Vs Rock II for the WWE title and Brock Vs Punk for the World title. Cena beats Rock straight up and shakes hands. Punk beats Brock for the World title by getting down and dirty, bending and breaking rules and doing what it takes to take the belt.
-So after a year, this gives us a clean cut Superman type hero in Cena, and a dark brooding crusader like Batman in Punk. Two top faces with completely different styles. Just like when Rock and Austin were on top.
