I watch wrestling to distract myself from the horrible things in the world. I don't watch it to have someone talk about politics. If I want that, I would turn on the news. This new character is doing nothing for Swagger except to get cheap heat. Also, depending on what part of the country he is in, he might get face pops (see West Texas Rednecks).

Yeah. You could work a political gimmick in a regional indy, but it doesn't work on a national stage. The country is basically 50/50 and that's not what you want in a heel.
Plus the whole thing doesn't work IMO. ADR is not a hard working Mexican immigrant, he's an aristocrat. You might could've done something like this with Tito Santana, but not ADR.

Well as the regulars (do we have regulars yet?) know I am deeply interested in politics and have worked in it professionally, and this gimmick is EXACTLY the kind of person I dislike (and know far too many of) so this is gold for me and I think it will work just fine with ADR if they do it right... which of course there is plenty of reason to be skeptical about.

I know it's been 7 years, but they did this with JBL & Eddie. Can't they do something with a Mexican champ that isn't about being an immigrant?
Also, Parallax, wasn't this what you were talking about doing? I'm thinking they stole your idea!

Honestly the gimmick seems very one note with little meat to it and only there for his match with ADR at Mania (if it ever happens now). It would have been better if you scrapped the manager and go more subtle with the gimmick, Swagger being an American fighting for American rights but not shoving it down our throats. But yeah, WWE can't do subtle anymore. What's also bad is Swagger will be cheered in some parts of America and that's just bad.
So I'm going to guess he's at least out of the Mania WHC match, unless Vince is so high on the gimmick and match he's going to let Swagger slide.

Haha, it's alright, you're not dense.
The WWE came up with a show called Are You Serious? where they talk about the worst of wrestling, and I believe the first ep they mocked the Sting & Robocop deal.
So, they read my website, I have an article series called Are You F'ning Serious? that talks about the worst of wrestling. My first article talked about Sting & Robocop.
It's probably coincidence, but still, I get to say they stole from me without anyone proving my theories incorrect.
