I think Swagger is the quickest someone has gone from nobody to wrestlemania "main event." He was a joke before he left being Ziggler's sidekick and everyone forgot about him. He returns and bam, wrestlemania title shot that no one would have saw coming.
If you ignore the special attractions like LT and Mr T, The only ones I can compare it to is Yokozuna and Ted Dibiase. Yoko had only debuted about 6 months earlier and won the Royal Rumble (went to a kids viewing party and all of us were in absolute shock that he won). Ted debuted about 6 months earlier (yes I know he was in WWWF and NWA beforehand but most people wouldn't have known who he is), bought the WWF title from Andre, and wrestles in main event at wrestlemania 4. For a comparable similarity for Ted, it would be like if Austin Aires or Bobby Roode did what he did.

I gotta go with Big Show.
His first match was main eventing a PPV against Hulk Hogan for the World Title, which he won. His first freaking match.
Luger too. I mean, usually kids back in the day watched either NWA or WWE. So, if you only watched WWE then this guy from the WBF, who was the Narcissist, was all of a sudden riding around in The Lex Express? And we're suppose to give a fuck?

Dibiase had the pedigree from other feds, so even though they played up the Million Dollar Man aspect of the character, they didn't act like he was a nobody.
The Giant is the obvious choice. He was barely finished training.

I agree that the Giant is the quickest from nobody to ppv main event. However, I was talking about Wrestlemania main event. Sorry for the miscommunication.
