I became a fan in 1995. I was 11 at the time. Anyway, NOBODY was a wrestling fan. NOBODY. I saw a guy at school once with an old school WWF backpack, and that blew my mind.
It stayed this way until 1998. I remember being at the mall and seeing these Stone Cold & DX shirts at a sports store, and I lost my mind. I couldn't believe it. Wrestling apparel! Here it was! Holy shit!
The moment I realized shit had done changed was when I went to school one morning, and one of the people who use to make fun of me for liking wrestling ran up to me and said "Did you see Stone Cold give Slaughter the stunner?! He's my fucking hero!". Within a month I was the man because of my Austin 3:16 shirt & hat.
It was so weird to see this thing that I had loved so much over the last 3 years, something that no one else dug, or wanted any part of, suddenly the biggest thing in the World.
